NEW Cooperative donates to Greene County Early Learning Center building project

A gift of $5,000 from the NEW Cooperative, Inc. and Land O’ Lakes will help ensure that “Growth Happens Here” at the Greene County Early Learning Center (GCELC), a nonprofit childcare center serving children and families from throughout Greene County.

NEW Cooperative, headquartered in Fort Dodge, joins other regional businesses in supporting the construction of a new building for the center in Jefferson that will increase its capacity for care by about 50 percent to nearly 150 children.

NEW is building a new grain facility and feed mill location near Cooper. NEW Cooperative currently operates 60 locations in north, central and western Iowa and serves 8,000 members in grain, agronomy, feed, precision ag and energy business.

“This is a great project we are proud to support. Our members and customers in this area are supportive of NEW Cooperative and we are happy to support projects that enhance our communities we serve. Also, the board and fundraising team are to be commended for their hard work and running a successful campaign,” said Gary Moritz, communications manager for NEW Cooperative, Inc.

“We are grateful for the continued support of businesses and individuals in the Greene County area who, with us, see this dream happening,” said Donna Sutton, co-chair of the fundraising steering committee.
